I’m a Grand-what?!
I just realized that my nephew’s son is my grand-nephew, which technically makes me a grand-aunt. And here I thought I was so clever razzing my brother for being a grandfather (and my parents for being great-grandparents – holy smokes!).
This is my decrepitude personified: Dylan. He is a cute little rascal!
Dylan is older than Kieran by six months. They did have some fun together when we visited family on Christmas, although this picture doesn’t really demonstrate that.
A grand-aunt. I didn’t even know there was such a creature.
I’m going to need some time to digest this information. Sweet Jesus.

I think you’re actually a Great-Aunt – feel better about that title? ;-)
I could be wrong though – so I’m Jimmy’s niece, which makes my son his great-nephew, and makes Jimmy his great-uncle.
Oh, wait. I skipped a generation. Duh. You’re right.
But you are still great. :-)
As are you, my friend!
All I can say is better a grand-aunt than a grandfather! Sometimes there are big age spreads between siblings, so you end up with a nephew older than you or some such. But to be a grandparent you need to have a child who is old enough to have a child, it’s a whole other ballgame I say.
That’s exactly what happened with us – my brother is 10 years older than me, and his son had a baby very early. So Monty is actually a very young grandparent.
What cuties! Stopping by from SITS!

Erin’s right, that makes you a great-aunt, not a grand-aunt. Well, we already knew you were great ;)
Nope, Erin is not right. I’m a grand aunt, I looked it up. But thank you for the affirmation ;)
Grand Aunt is the correct term?? All these years I have been wrong!! Oh well..Grand or Great…I think you are PERFECT !!! :-}
