Arts & Crafts Display Board
My friend Sarah inspired me to put up this display board for Kieran’s art projects. It hangs in our living room.
It was very easy to make – we just got cork board squares (12″ x 12″) and scrapbook paper in the same size. I attached the paper to the cork board with double sided tape, and we put the corkboard onto the wall with those little double sided 3M sticky squares. The corkboard is pretty thin, but the thumb tacks we got work well.
We also have his artwork taped all over our kitchen cabinets, like this:
How do you display your child’s artwork?

We have the hallway art gallery. But, this is exactly what I needed for over top of it.
Though I love our ruler art hangers.
We don’t have any good hallways for art or pictures. I like the ruler art hanger idea though.
That is such a great idea! We do the “typical” display on the fridge with magnets right now.
re: magnets – our fridge is covered w/magnets that we made (pictures on dominoes, I blogged about it a month or two ago), and Kieran likes to take them off and stack them, or make designs on the fridge with them. Pictures on our fridge wouldn’t work!
We have a basement so I hang the special items using tacks going down the basement wall. This way he still feels special and it’s somewhat out of the way.
Basement definitely not an option here – ours isn’t finished :(
Thank you for stopping by!!
I love the cork board. We have one of Cy’s biggest works framed on our living room wall.
I like having ours in the living room. It’s not like we’re huge interior decorators, so the only thing it displaced was some framed photographs. I love having Kieran’s art as a conversation piece – Lord knows he is ;)
My nephew’s art is taped all over my temporary home. :)
and soon your permanent home ;)
We have had art galleries of various shapes and forms. At the moment, though, we have none because my toddler rips my preschooler’s art down when we put it up. I have visions of a bunch of clips mounted on a long board that we can put up on the wall so that it will be safe, but I have not yet gotten around to it. Soon, I hope!
That sounds good! I’ve seen something like that with thin really thin wire and photographs.
We have a horrendous amount of artwork. To keep it from overtaking the house, the kids have a big bulletin board in the playroom for displaying in the open. Then they each have their own 12×12 scrapbook that they use as their art portfolios. The size is perfect for accomodating horizontal or vertical paper. They decide what they want to keep in it and switch art out as they see fit.
I love that idea! I’ve also thought about taking pictures of our favorite pieces and then turning them into magnets :)
Fridge and magnets here, too. Lilly decides which ones go up there.
It is a popular choice! ;)
I like! You have quite the artist on your hands. We have some of the girls art work on the fridge, but I was just telling my husband we need a space for their projects.
It has been nice to have it in the living area – he likes to point out what is up there. You should def. display the girls’ work!!
