:( Hugs mama
Honestly, I've used diaper cream a handful of times (Desitin, because that's what I got at the baby shower) & Aquafor (sp?) a little more often when he gets a red bum (after eating citrus or tomatoes usually), and we have never had a problem with the diapers. Then again, I don't smear it everywhere, it's pretty much just right there in between his little cheeks.
But to answer your question, yes - I think the liners would do a good job of keeping cream off the fabric. They really don't slide around much, and you can try different types. We have one roll that the sheets are pretty big, you could basically cover the entire interior of the diaper if you so chose. (We cut them in half.)

Do you use the liners with diaper cream? We have some homemade fleece ones we use to keep from staining our diapers, but Elliot started to daycare today and I'm sending the disposible liners to encourage the cloth diaper usage. It's like starting back to work all over again, only this time he's not with a trusted friend and I can't see him over my lunch break. Needless to say, a tough day.

Naomi's poo stunk before the food. *sigh* Poor GI problem kid. I miss breastfed-smelling poo. Although, the food poo was even worse, not that I knew it could be ;)

It's only getting reused if it is a wet (not poopy) diaper. If it's poopy, the liner usually gets dumped right in the toilet with the poo. See?

(And I personally don't use the liners about 75% of the time - they are more for hubby's benefit. I don't have as much trouble getting poo off a diaper and into the toilet, but since he's on board the cloth diaper train, I'll help accommodate him.)

Wait. WhY's the point of using a liner if you're reusing it? Why not just wash the diaper if you're washing the liner...?

I think you would have an audience for such a blog - totally separate from this one. You could even have guests submit blogs and mystery liner days. My second child has been obsessed with blueberries from the day she started eating food. Blueberry poo is one of the WORST! The smell...oh my, the smell....

Thank you for stopping by Jenn :) These liners are not the softest, but we've tried several brands and the soft ones will not hold up to washing. It's a tradeoff. We like the reusable aspect, and they don't seem to bother Kieran at all (and he's pretty vocal about his diaper area - whenever we try to put a disposable on him he says "cloooooooooooth mama! cloooooooooooth!" ;))
