Images removed to prevent you nasty pedo-philia perverts from seeing an inch of my child’s posterior. Go get some help. And stay far, far away from kids.

Kieran has recently become our little exhibitionist. I’ve been waiting and wondering whether this stage would crop up; many littles go through it. I have a friend whose then two year old daughter took off her clothes at a public park last summer. My friend put her daughter’s clothes back on, the daughter took them off. This happened two or three times before my friend said “to heck with it” and let her daughter run around the grass sans clothes. There were only a few other mother/toddler pairs nearby, and mothers generally understand that kind of stuff.

Not these mothers – one of them called 911. An officer showed up to take a report. As my friend chatted with the officer, she dressed her daughter once again. Before the officer left, my friend’s daughter had – you guessed it – stripped down. Mercifully, the officer laughed and went on his way.

Yes, I had to pick my jaw up off the floor too when I heard the story.

Anyway, it’s the middle of winter so I’ve not had to deal with him disrobing at our local park. He does run around like this in our house quite often, though. We got a giggle out of him cooking in the buff the other day.

Does (or did) your child enjoy running around au naturale? Where is the most embarrassing place s/he has disrobed?

Yep our daughter loves to run around naked and has since she potty learned at around age 2 1/2. Before that she was often just in a diaper at home (her choice). She still will frequently run around in just panties and she is almost 4.
She really hasn’t disrobed while we are out and about too much. Sometimes at family members houses she will. Or if she spots a fountain that she thinks she will get to go run in :)

  2. We have more than one naked picture from our childhoods. It’s good to hear it’s not just a Mitchell thing ;)

Tonia – were you with us at Powell Gardens last year? Did she get in the fountains there?

Tammy – well it was a Mitchell *taking* the pictures ;)

That is super cute! I can’t believe anyone would call 911…

Mine answers the door naked. Usually it’s daycare parents who understand and laugh it off but not always. I think my daughter doesn’t feel the cold like some other kids. She takes off her coat and shoes all the time, even yesterday. Now granted there is no snow here but it’s still winter!

  6. I was outside shoveling the driveway a few days ago and looked toward the house. On either side of the front door there is a narrow vertical window. They perfectly framed my two nudists…Valerie and Charlotte were dancing around there, watching me work! At least it wasn’t nice weather…no one else was outside to see them there.

I could share some stories about YOU…when you were younger but I think I will just keep them to
One plus…I bet that this will help him to get potty trained really quickly I mean who wants and accident running down their nekkid leg?? hehehehe

That’s how I was planning on helping that process out this summer, I just wish we could have a chance to do it before Spain.

ooohhh yeah we’ve got our own little exhibitionist. Everett has been running around naked since around 18 mos. at least. Its daily that he asks, “can I be nakey a few minutes?” which really means all afternoon. Its a hoot. I love the kind of pics we can get with him half dressed up in a costume, still obviously butt-naked. It was great for potty training at first, but then it was like relearning all together when we started using undies/t. pants. so worth it though!

We made a ground rule with my daughter that she has to wear underwear. We did this because she would also strip down, but she couldn’t differentiate between situations when nudity was and wasn’t OK. So it’s a blanket rule that we stick with. It’s particularly practical when they get a little older and start to wipe their own butts. (Ew, skidmarks.)

My daughter is fine with the limit. In fact, for the longest time she would come to me and yell, “I kept my underwear on!” apropos of nothing. It was her way of letting me know she’d taken her clothes off.

Double ew – now that was thinking ahead!!

We insist on underwear if she’s on any piece of furniture except the bed, for the same reason as you.

And I am LMAO at the term “skidmarks.”

Ronan loves being naked too! He tried to start stripping at the coffeeshop playgroup a few weeks ago. I had to draw the line there, I’m afraid! But it is a rare get-together with friends when at least one of our toddlers is not naked. ;)

i have an entire series of pictures from a warm feb through a warm october of khary’s backside while he’s peeing in public places. there was one day that he decided to strip ENTIRELY at a public park. it was an odd time of day & we had the park to ourselves, so i let it go. he figured out that bare bottoms don’t slide very well, though. ;)

  12. If her favorite dress is clean, them she wears clothes, if not shes naked. After she turned three we are a little more strict about the underwear thing, mostly when we are at other peoples houses. She used to strip down at church, which we had to put the kibosh on quickly, but when we are home I really don’t care, she’s happy!!

I could see some of the little old ladies at my mom’s church fainting if Kieran ran around naked in there ;)
