Natural Parenting and Breastfeeding Facebook Communities
I was flattered that a reader nominated Code Name: Mama’s Facebook fan page for Babble’s “favorite FB fan pages for parents.”1 I was even more excited to see the large number of both natural parenting and breastfeeding fan pages nominated. But since Babble isn’t the best mouthpiece for breastfeeding supporters or natural parents, I decided to compile a list of these fan pages myself.
Below are some of the many Facebook fan pages available for parents looking for communities that celebrate natural parenting and breastfeeding topics. The fact that these pages are on this list does not constitute my personal endorsement, you will have to decide for yourself if each community is a good fit for you.2
Please let me know if I missed a great natural parenting or breastfeeding community, and please share this post with friends who are natural parenting and/or breastfeeding advocates. Let’s celebrate the communities that share great parenting information without supporting a website that disrespects our NP/BF’ing goals.3
The first link is to the main website (if applicable), the Facebook fan page is in parentheses. Descriptions are copied/pasted from either the fan page or the site itself where possible.4

Babes in Arms (Facebook fan page): We find joy as parents from holding our baby close and following our instincts. We want to keep our life simple by minimising “baby gadgets” and give our daughter what she most needs – us! The freedom that babywearing offers has had great positive impacts for our family life.

All photos & prints are publicly available through various libraries & repositories.

Moms don’t need to hear stupid comments about how nursing in public is “gross,” or that they should put a blanket over the baby or go to a bathroom. - Babble already selected their favorite top 50 fan pages, these are all reader nominated. ↩
- Remember, many natural parenting advocates practice the saying that you “take what works for you and leave the rest,” so you may find some communities do not practice every aspect of NP that you do. I am proud that the parents who participate on both Code Name: Mama’s, Natural Parents Network’s, and NursingFreedom’s Facebook fan pages embrace differences and engage in respectful debate. I hope that you will find more communities that do the same. ↩
- I’d really like to limit this list to communities where people are really talking and sharing information. I’d like to avoid pages that are only used to post reviews, giveaways, or other links. ↩
- Some pages did not have a description. If you are the site owner, please email me to modify the description I wrote. ↩
