What Are You Thankful For?

On the fourth day of our babymoon, we had a lazy family day. Aside from Ailia’s first trip to the chiropractor (and my first post-partum adjustment, which I think was as wonderful – if not more so – than my prenatal adjustments), we sat around the house and did fun, relaxing activities.
At one point, Tom and I were both on our computers and Kieran was listening to audio books on the tablet. He randomly selected a book to listen to about the “history” behind Thanksgiving – complete with pilgrims, Native Americans, etc. I wasn’t paying much attention until I heard the book wrapping up. The narrator talked about what the pilgrims were thankful for – friends, food, and shelter.
And then the narrator asked, “what are you thankful for?”
Kieran’s response:
Love.
Yes, I cried.1
- Kieran’s response was all the sweeter because he has only recently begun really enunciating his “L” sounds (they used to sound more like “W” sounds). And when he makes the “L” sound, he sticks his tongue out just the tiniest bit, so it makes the L that much more prominent (this used to be a very conscious move he did to make the sound, now he does it more subconsciously). He does it with Ailia’s name too, I love hearing him say her name! ↩

I’m pretty sure I would have cried, too. You seem to have done a beautiful job of wrapping your little family in love :)
I love this so much!!
Baby’s first chiropractic! Love that too.
Lucky kids.
Awwww… that was so so so sweet!
Awwww that’s so sweet
Well it made ME cry too…such a sweet boy you have!! I am blessed to be able to call him Grandson!!! He is just ONE of the many things….or should I say PEOPLE that I am thankful to have in my life!!!
Yes, so very sweet. Eyes glistening… :)
Aww, sweetest thing ever!
Oh my goodness that is sweet. I just had my son a month ago (!)and totally have been having those melt your heart moments. I also got my son (and whole family) to the chiropractor because I needed an adjustment postpartum and helpful to get the children adjusted early, I think. A funny truth — both births, I went into labor the day after getting adjusted. I told my chiropractor that he should start advertising!
Yay for babymoon!
Aw, so sweet!
My 3-year-old recently said, “I like my family, because they are my people.” I admit to totally melting at that one.
So very, very sweet!
