   This is my FAVORITE part of infancy… it’s the payoff for all the long nights and sore boobs and clothes that smell of sour milky puke. It’s when you really start to see the light of intelligence and the desire to communicate in those eyes, when they begin to show awareness that there are others in their world and they are so deeply driven to connect with them, when they are so thirsty to drink up every word and gesture you can offer. Thanks for a great reminder of those ecstatic moments!
