Toddler Stories: Even Better Two Years Later
This morning Kieran and I took a walk, the purpose of which was to start a nature journal. We picked a few leaves and headed home to look them up online and identify them. Before we started, I dug through our desk to find an old notebook to use for his journal.
I opened it up and found two stories that Kieran had narrated to me almost exactly two years ago (he would have been 2.5 years old). I think I love them more now than I did then. Here they are:
This is fire. The fire is on the ceiling. It is in the closet too. It went out. It comes under the covers. It shuts the door. Where is that fire? Right here! It goes to bed. The end.

Look at my big poop. Look at my tiny poo. It went on the floor. It ate some food. It got a booboo. It got some medicine and now it is all better. It went outside and played some basketball. The end.

I’ve written before about how much fun it is to record stories as narrated by your children. Now I recommend it even more, because they are priceless even two years later!
