WW: MY Latest Sewing Projects

I had to share this quick and easy sewing project I did for Ailia on Memorial Day. I was in the middle of making T-shirt towels when I came across a Harry Potter shirt of mine. I’d gotten it on one of those T-shirt “design of the day” sites, and while I really love it, it is too big for either Tom or I to wear.

I remembered Pinning instructions for an easy T-shirt dress, and who could resist a toddler Seeker?!

I think I spent about an hour on this. I hemmed everything – around the armholes and on the bottom (the tutorial says you don’t have to, because jersey does not fray extensively). We had another t-shirt in the project pile that was just the right color of yellow to use for the yarn at the halter.

Isn’t it adorable?! The shirt says Gryffindor Quidditch Team Seeker. That is an old school broom, of course; can’t break out the fancy Nimbus models for toddlers.

While I’m doing show and tell, here is one of the Rag Bag Totes I made for Christmas. I made several and kept one for myself. I much prefer the quilted side. Now if I could just learn how to quilt, I could make them quilted on both sides!

My Latest Sewing Projects

If you’re itching to sew something cute and easy, check out my Sew Simple Board on Pinterest. Here are the projects I’d love to work on soon:

A knit t-shirt skirt – one with ruffles, one without.

A hoodie animal scarf – so sweet.

A necktie cuff bracelet – cute Christmas gifts perhaps?

What sewing projects do you have lined up?

Ailia looks adorable. I can’t help remembering your post about her birth – where did the time go? I am off to check out your sewing board on Pinterest.

When i opened your email, and saw Ailia’s picture, I wondered what an angel was doing with a broomstick!

    Hugs and love, Vidya

That dress is very nice ! And based on what you say about Ailia, Gryffindor seems to be the appropriate house for her. I love seeing such sorts of crafts, I’m into crocheting and sewing myself, and it’s really nice to see such creativity.

Thank you all! She really is a sweet model :)
And Sibylle, your comment made me grin. And then I wondered, hmm, do Gryffindors tend to eat a lot of non-edibles? ;)

I couldn’t sew a dress to save my life (good thing I have boys, right?), but I wanted to let you know how adorable that little t-shirt dress is!
