A parent’s approach to misbehavior is key to making discipline effective and peaceful. My goals, when approaching misbehavior, are to stay calm and connected, to assume the best intentions of my children, and to engage them in the entire discipline process. When they trust that I care about their feelings and believe that they can solve their own problems, the results are always more positive.
