When Kieran was a toddler and preschooler, he was the most loving, affectionate kiddo ever. But during the course of his 5th year, sometime after he weaned and began to find other ways to fulfill his need for love and security, he also drastically reduced how often he hugged me, kissed me, and said “I love you.”

Rootless

Early this fall, my family stood crying in the driveway, waving to my parents as they drove away. They’d just packed up their home of 25+ years and were moving to Florida. Now that I’m the last member of my family of origin to live in the area we all know, I’m feeling . . . rootless.
